Dr. Ooi Kok Loang (Dr. Mark Ooi) is a finance scholar and advisor specializing in behavioral finance, ESG investing, and financial market dynamics. His work focuses on how investor psychology, sustainable finance, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence influence investment decision making and market behavior. He is affiliated with the University of Malaya, where he contributes to research, teaching, and academic mentorship. Dr. Ooi holds a PhD in Behavioral Finance, a Master in Finance, and a Master of Laws (Business Law), and is a U.S. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Prior to academia, he worked as an auditor and consultant at KPMG and later held leadership roles in higher education, including serving as Deputy Dean. His experience spans both industry practice and academic leadership. His research covers investor behavior, ESG sentiment, and AI-driven financial analysis, with publications in international journals and edited volumes. He is also the author and editor of several books on behavioral finance and investment strategy. Dr. Ooi contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for SCI and Scopus-indexed journals and mentors PhD students.
